Fasset contracted Faranani to run a full day workshop in which attendees learned how to understand and handle diversity effectively and to help contribute to an inclusive and welcoming work environment with a more productive workforce. Training was provided by Deborah Williams, a director at Faranani Facilitation Services and a specialist in diversity.

Intended as an intermediate workshop for Skills Development Facilitators (SDFs), human resources and training professionals, and line managers, the workshop provided an overview of all aspects pertinent to diversity and covered the following topics, and new developments:

  • Diversity and the Fasset sector
  • Understanding stereotypes, prejudice and discrimination
  • Examining exclusion, superiority, inferiority, racism and rankism
  • Exploring sexism, disability, HIV/AIDS and homophobia
  • Maintaining cultural awareness
